InSTEP
Who We Are
InSTEP (In Support of Teen Empowerment and Progress) is dedicated to positively impacting the lives of youth and teens in our community.
Founded by the Junior League of The Woodlands in 2019, InSTEP supports teens in North Harris and Montgomery County by partnering with local organizations to provide essential resources that promote mental health, empowerment, education, and inclusion.
We address key challenges facing teens, including the risk of homelessness after foster care, lack of access to hygiene products, and financial barriers to basic necessities. Through collaborations with partners such as the Giving Gown Foundation, The Champion Project, and YES to YOUTH, we help teens develop resilience, life skills, and self-worth.
A core initiative, The Period Project, launched in 2020, ensures students have access to free menstrual hygiene products. In 2025, we distributed over 100,000 products to 90 campuses across our service area..
